Mass Intentions
“What can we do to pray for a loved one, living or deceased, or how can we honor or memorialize them at our parish?” This is a common question, and one beautiful way to do so is by having a Mass offered for a particular intention. Because the Mass is the sacramental memorial of Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection, offering a Mass unites our intentions with the prayer of the entire Church and entrusts those we love to God’s grace and care.
It is an ancient Christian tradition to make an offering when requesting a Mass intention. These offerings support the Church and her ministers and are carefully regulated by Canon Law.
To accommodate the many requests for Mass intentions and in accordance with Canon Law and the Archdiocese of Louisville, St. Albert the Great has established the following guidelines. They help ensure that our entire parish community has access to the profound spiritual gift of having a Mass offered for a loved one or special intention.
