Field Day is Olympic Fun!

It’s almost time for ….FIELD DAY !!!!!!!!!

On Friday, May 18, 2012, the students in grades Preschool - 6th will be participating in Field Day, a fun-filled day of activities and play celebrating another great year at St. Albert the Great.  With the summer Olympics approaching, we are going to celebrate the festivities by having an Olympic theme for Field Day 2012.  22 countries will be represented and each of the 5 colors of the Olympic rings will be present.

Each classroom has been assigned a country to represent.  The class will wear a colored shirt (pre-assigned) that represents a color in their country’s flag.  Each class will have the opportunity to share a few interesting facts about their country’s participation in the Olympics (a classroom project), and they will parade together during the opening ceremonies.  At the conclusion of field day, all of the students will gather together in the shape of the Olympic rings for a school photo.

Field Day is a NON-UNIFORM day!!  Dress your child appropriately for the weather and activities (sneakers, shorts and quick-drying materials suggested).  And don’t forget your sunscreen!

Your child(ren) should wear the colored shirt assigned to their homeroom.

Note:  The 6th grade will be given Blue Field Day t-shirts to celebrate their last Field Day.
