Welcome to our Sports Ministry Program

Our Athletic program has offerings for all ages - from Kindergarten to Adult.  We offer volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, golf, football, swimming, cross-country, and field hockey.  Sport signups are handled seasonally with the announcements made in the bulletin and on the calendar on the website.  All children of St. Albert are eligible to play sports as long as they are students of our Parish school or active in our PREP program.

Due to limited numbers of signups in all divisions we will not be fielding teams this year in any age group. We apologize for not communicating earlier, but we have been actively recruiting the past couple weeks to see if we could add to the numbers.

May 2011
Dear Parishioner,
The mission of St. Albert's Athletic Ministry is to provide all children of our Parish the opportunity to grow spiritually, socially, and physically by emphasizing Christian values, respect, and good sportsmanship.  Since February 24, 2011, some members of our Parish have spent much time creating three documents:  a constitution, by-laws, rules and regulations.  (Click here for the summary of these three documents) These will now be used to govern the future activities of St. Albert's athletic programs.  Please click on the link at the top of this page for the full version of each document.

Prior to posting these documents on our website in their entirety I wanted offer a little background. The parish pastoral council approved these documents at their May 10, 2011 monthly meeting and these documents will govern the athletic ministry and serve as “working documents’ the first year as we transition leadership and implementation. Gary Levy (who has graciously served as interim “athletic facilitator”) composed these summary introductions which highlight matters of importance. Please read these initial summaries and I urge you to read and review all the documents and embrace them in the spirit of providing a valuable ministry to our student athletes and their families.

I ask for your patience and cooperation as we begin implementation. As you read the documents you will notice we will need many volunteers to maintain a healthy and vital sports ministry for your children. When invited to help please respond generously. We want only the best for your children and we will need your help.

I thank all of you who have given so much of your lives and precious time to our sports ministry in the past and look forward to continued excellence in the years ahead.
Go St. Albert Vikings!!

Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Wayne Jenkins
